Service Leader – Adult Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the People and Communities Directorate, what we are looking for is an enthusiastic Service Leader to work in our Adult Support and Safeguarding unit. This is an exciting time for adult social care in North Somerset with a new vision for the service being developed and this will lead to a review of the current structure of the service to ensure that we are meeting needs as best we can within current financial resources. The successful candidate will be part of this exciting strategic development.

You will take responsibility for developing your long term conditions teams and be responsible for line management of senior social workers and occupational therapists. You will take responsibility for ensuring the safe and effective running of operational social care services. You will also have budgetary responsibility and quality assurance within their area of work. The successful candidate will have experience of working in partnership and in particular, the NHS, change management and a sound understanding of Adult Safeguarding issues and procedures.

This is a strategic and exciting role where you will take accountability for leading the service in the changes the authority are currently facing and providing direction to the staff teams where you will be creating a culture which is rooted in the Council’s values.

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Adults’ Support and Safeguarding, you will be part of the Senior Management Team and expected to work with your colleagues to ensure that the directorate delivers a high quality service to the residents of North Somerset.

This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitations of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
