We are seeking to appoint two Senior Inclusion Support Workers to join our Inclusion and Learning Service and play a key role in improving attendance, inclusion and access to education for children and young people across Devon.

These exciting leadership roles will provide operational oversight and day-to-day management of a team of Inclusion Support Workers, while also maintaining a caseload of children and young people. Working collaboratively with schools, families and partner agencies, you will help identify and overcome barriers to learning, attendance and inclusion, ensuring children and young people receive the right support at the right time.

The successful candidates will lead by example, providing coaching, supervision and professional support to Inclusion Support Workers while contributing to the ongoing development of locality-based services. You will build strong relationships with schools and families, promote inclusive practices, and support improved outcomes for children and young people, particularly those with SEND and additional vulnerabilities.

We have two full-time vacancies available:

  • North and Mid – based at Taw View, Barnstaple
  • South and West Locality – based at Follaton House, Totnes

The role will include:

  • Leading and line managing a team of Inclusion Support Workers.
  • Coordinating support for children, young people and families within a defined locality.
  • Providing direct support to children, young people and families.
  • Supporting improved attendance, inclusion and access to learning.
  • Working closely with schools and multi-agency partners.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to statutory processes where required.
  • Supporting the development of inclusive practices across educational settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner with a strong understanding of inclusion, attendance, SEND and safeguarding to take on a leadership role within a developing service dedicated to improving outcomes for children, young people and their families.
